Amazon's non-employee background check standards and compliance requirements are designed to support Amazon's commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees and customers. Vendors are asked to use an Amazon preferred background check provider to ensure that Amazon screening obligations are met. For vendors providing workers who meet the criteria below, the Personnel Suitability Requirements detail vendor obligations.

Amazon's Background Check Policies require all non-employees who meet one or more of the following descriptions to successfully complete a background check prior to commencing work for or on behalf of Amazon:

(1) individual will have access to an Amazon building via an Amazon badge, (2) individual will have access to Amazon systems (active directory log-in credentials, Amazon email, or similar), (3) Individual will have an active record in Amazon's Human Resource Information System (HRIS), (4) Individual will have access inside customer homes or vehicles, or (5) Individual is an Independent Contractor.
